I’m a pre-medical student at the University of Washington interested in supporting maternal health outcomes. I met Micaela at Bellevue College before transferring to UW Seattle. Through our shared appreciation for social advocacy and cell biology, she took me under her wing in the Wang lab to investigate the impacts of social isolation on bumblebees to inform human incarceration policies.

After presenting our research at the Mary Gates Research Symposium, she encouraged me to pursue molecular neuroscience through an NIH ENDURE internship studying the molecular mechanics of the endocannabinoid (eCB) system of the brain in Dr. Larry Zweifel’s lab. I’m currently preparing to present at the Society for Neuroscience in Washington D.C. and intend to graduate Fall 2027.
